    Poop deck: Parenting styles

“Block time is done, Antonio. Time to clean up,” Mom says. And he replies, “I got some tiny widdle bwass knuckles that say I keep pwaying, Mama.”

Refrigerator, helicopter, lawnmower, tiger parent…there are all kinds of terms for parenting styles. But don’t be too quick to label and judge. But look at that little cherub up above and ask yourself, “Could I really do better?”

    Poop deck: Looksculpting

It’s going to take this young artist a long time to preview himself in a beard, but consider this:

    • his sculpture isn’t saving his face’s data for God-knows-what reason and selling it to “3rd parties”
    • He doesn’t know what “looksmaxxing1” is
    • He doesn’t see social media images that plummet his body image into a chasm of self-loathing

Just because it’s new, doesn’t mean it’s progress.

1I know what it means: it’s when you look in the mirror and quickly say, “I look smashing2!” and walk away satisfied.

2 Say, “look smashing,” then “looksmaxxing.” Haw, haw, haw. Now your day is better.

    Poop deck: Most Improved

When I was a kid, I was crap in school. Then in grade 7, I turned things around and received a dictionary for my efforts. Inside, it read:

    Most Improved

    Thomas Kerslake

I guess there were three or four other Thomas Kerslakes skulking around that I never saw. Still, it’s better than that one kid whose dedication said, “Best in show.”
